Education: Bachelor of Science, Real Estate Finance, Development and Construction Management at University of Southern California
Biography
Khari Buck, a native of Southern California, received her bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, development and construction management from the University of Southern California in May 2007. Upon graduation, she joined Wachovia Bank where she participated in the Risk Management Associate Class of 2007, a credit and leadership training program. She spent her first six months traveling between Charlotte, NC and Irvine, CA as an analyst in the Homebuilder Financing Division.
In December 2007, she transferred into the Commercial & Investment Bank as a Commercial Real Estate Risk Analyst. There she developed a keen understanding of credit underwriting for construction, acquisition and development loans for a myriad of product types including income property: multifamily, office, medical office, self storage and hospitality as well as for sale property: land and flex use warehouse.
As a result of mergers, the Southern California portfolio maintained a boutique structure and Khari underwrote an assortment of unsecured lines of credit to individuals and merchant builders with large exposure to real estate and a need for working capital. As a result of Wells Fargo’s acquisition of Wachovia in early 2009, Khari shifted into the Special Situations Group, focusing primary on distressed assets and nonstrategic client lines of credit work-outs.
Upon completion of her master’s degree, she hopes to move into real estate consulting and ultimately focus her career on the development of urban infill design/build projects in the Southern California marketplace.
