Biography
Christopher Haine received a bachelor’s of architecture degree from the University of Houston. After graduation, he left his native state of Texas and joined Callison Architecture’s program management studio in Costa Mesa, California. As a project manager, he was responsible for twelve retail bank projects as a part of Washington Mutual’s southern California expansion. In 2004, he obtained his architecture license, and began working for RTKL Associates in Dallas, Texas. At RTKL Chris had the opportunity to work on large-scale projects in the retail studio. He worked on a 120,000 square foot lifestyle-center expansion at First Colony Mall in Sugarland, Texas as well as a 360,000 square foot mall expansion at Tyson’s Corner Center in McLean, Virginia. Chris also gained experience in urban design working on the Tyson’s Corner Center’s rezoning and concept development plan, which added 3.2 million square feet of mixed-use, transit oriented development to Tyson’s coordinated with Metro rail expansion. Working on this project with a diverse multi-disciplinary team inspired him to pursue real estate development as a career path. In 2006, Chris joined Icon Partners as a project developer. There he had the opportunity to work on all acquisition and development phases for three multi-family and mixed use projects in Dallas totaling over $90 million in development and construction. Chris is a licensed real estate broker and has been a member of numerous professional associations including ULI, ICSC, CSI and served as a committee member for the Dallas Chapter of the AIA. Chris was awarded the 2008 ICSC Foundation Graduate Level Scholarship, and received an Honorable Mention in the 2009 ULI/Hines Student Urban Design Competition.
