Biography
Sung Won Suh is a teaching associate in Program in Real Estate and a doctoral student in the department of city and regional planning at Cornell University as part of the employee degree program. Mr. Suh earned his master’s degree in the Program in Real Estate at Cornell University (MPS/RE ’06) and a master’s degree in architecture in Seoul National University (MS ’97). Before coming to Cornell in 2004, he was active real estate practitioner working for Halla Construction and Development Corp. for 8 years as a project manager and a research fellow in Korea. He gained diverse experience in development and investment managing mixed-use and residential development projects. Mr. Suh published The Asset Management Strategy of Real Estate Fund, a book that introduced the new private investment platform of real estate to Korean readers in 2004. His publications, and research, are aimed at helping investors to understand the competitive advantage of new real estate investment instruments, such as REITs and CRREITs (REITs for company restructuring), over other investment vehicles.
