2007-08 Cornell Real Estate Review Editors Announced

Jessica Pitts

Rachel Wilson

"The appointment of Jessica and Rachel marks the continuation of the Cornell Real Estate Review tradition as the only student-managed real estate publication in the country,” said Dr. David Funk, adding, “Both will continue the impressive tradition set by prior CRER editors. We're in good hands moving forward.”

Wilson will take over as the Executive Editor, assuming the responsibilities for coordinating all aspects of the publication process including solicitation, collection, selection, and editing of articles. Rachel will be actively involved in the management of student and practitioner submissions.

Pitts will fulfill the role as Managing Editor. This newly created position is responsible for the enhancement of the Review’s national reputation. She will be in charge of the Review’s website, the PREview newsletter, and communication with the external stakeholders.

According to Chris de Mestre, the current editor of the CRER, “Jessica and Rachel will bring a fresh approach and continue to build the reputation of the CRER. Through their leadership the CRER will continue to be an innovative and informative resource for the Real Estate industry.”

Both Wilson and Pitts served as assistant editors of the CRER during 2006-07 as first-year students in the Cornell Graduate Program in Real Estate, and also both had articles accepted for publication that were co-authored with industry professionals.

The Cornell Real Estate Review aims to provide a conduit for scholars, professional practitioners, and students to express ideas, concepts and research findings from all fields related to the real estate profession. The Review focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of real estate by blending both informative practical papers with application based academic research across the breadth of design, business, economics, engineering, finance, law, planning, development, marketing and property management.

The CRER is a student edited and managed publication with the support of the Cornell Program in Real Estate and the Cornell Real Estate Council. Visit the CRER website for more information.
