PRE 2011 Graduates Obtain Investment Banking Positions
The Program in Real Estate at Cornell University, as one of the premier graduate programs in real estate, places its graduates in roles in private equity, consulting, investment banking, real estate investment trusts (REIT), and residential and commercial development companies. Duke Fairchild, Clifton Coffey and Tyler Williams from the PRE class of 2011 have accepted offers of employment within real estate investment banking companies. A description of the different companies and positions that these students secured are as follows:
Duke Fairchild - 2011 PRE
Company: The Greenwich Group International
Location: Washington, D.C.

Company Description: The Greenwich Group International was formed in 1995 by Simon Mildé, one of the founders of Jones Lang Wootton USA. It is a unique real estate investment bank whose core business has expanded dramatically in recent years from one primarily built around investment sales to a business focused on recapitalizations, platform financings, joint ventures and development funding. Since its founding, Greenwich has completed more than $30 billion in capital transactions. Position Description: As a Vice President with The Greenwich Group International, Duke will be responsible for interfacing with clients and investors to successfully navigate and complete complex real estate transactions. He will be actively involved in the sourcing and underwriting of real estate investment opportunities, as well as the placement of equity and debt capital on behalf of Greenwich and its clients.
Clifton Coffey - 2011 MBA/PRE

Position Description: Clifton will have the unique opportunity to gain knowledge of gaming investment banking firsthand while participating in all aspects of M&A, equity, debt and corporate finance transactions. Associates will be fully integrated into active deal teams; day-to-day tasks include: building financial models, conducting industry research, preparing presentations and drafting memorandums, and interacting with senior bankers and participating in internal and client meetings.
Tyler Williams - 2011 MBA/PRE

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Role: Associate: Investment Banking Division – Real Estate Group

Position Description: Tyler comically addressed his position by saying, “The position involves working 100+ hour work weeks building Excel models and PowerPoint pitch books, finding mistakes in every document ever produced, and sending dinner orders for Ruth Chris to analysts each night.”
