Kimberlee Swartz Named Coordinator of Career Services

ITHACA, NY. – Cornell University's Program in Real Estate is pleased to announce that Kimberlee Swartz has accepted a position as Coordinator of Career Services.
Swartz will coordinate the Real Estate Program’s Office of Career Services, which provides broad real estate career and outreach services to students, alumni, and Cornell Real Estate Council members. In addition to career development advising, Swartz will work closely with the real estate industry to cultivate internship and placement opportunities for Cornell real estate students as well as have responsibility for the Job Barometer, a leading bi-annual report on the commercial real estate job market that is a joint effort between Select Leaders and the Cornell Program in Real Estate.
Swartz is a highly accomplished professional offering experience in operations, management and business development complemented by an extensive background in community relations.
“Kim brings a blend of student service enthusiasm along with a strong business outreach orientation that is a great fit for the Program in Real Estate,” said Dr. David Funk, director of the Program, adding, “her hire is a key step towards further establishing Cornell as a center point for real estate career expertise, research, and service.”
Before coming to Cornell in 2007, where she has been employed as an Executive Staff Assistant at the Public Service Center, Swartz was an Operations Manager with Wegmans Food and Pharmacy for 15 years.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work collaboratively with faculty, students, alumni, staff, and industry professionals to provide the Program in Real Estate career counseling services and assist with programming that will meet the unique needs of the Program,” stated Swartz.
Swartz received a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Students in the Program stand to benefit immediately from the hire. "I am excited to take advantage of the personal career services Kim will provide," said Paul Koch, an incoming first year student (MPS/RE '10) in the Program, adding "I look forward to the career development and management programs, and the great student to coordinator ratio provides an advantage compared to other programs."
The Cornell Program in Real Estate offers a comprehensive, two-year professional degree in the field. Students at Cornell benefit from an encompassing core curriculum combined with a rich, diverse selection of real estate electives allowing for niche specialization—all in close interaction with the largest on-campus real estate faculty in the country.
