Cornell’s Program in Real Estate Students to Embark on Annual NYC Spring TREK

According to Wikipedia, “the word trek has entered the English language as one of few words derived from Afrikaans. It means a long, hard journey, and is derived from the Dutch trekken (meaning to pull or haul).” Some might describe a pre-dawn bus ride from Ithaca, New York to New York City to enhance one’s education in Commercial Real Estate during one of the most challenging economic periods in modern history in such a manner. However, students in the Program in Real Estate are resilient with their eyes on the prize, a fulfilling career in Commercial Real Estate.
The Program in Real Estate Spring TREK scheduled for March 4th and 5th 2010 is designed to provide students with the opportunity to add to their class room knowledge of commercial real estate through company briefings presented by Brookfield Properties, JP Morgan, and Toll Brothers, attendance at the Cornell Real Estate Council New York City Regional Meeting, and site visits to Related/Time Warner Center and Real Capital Analytics.
If you would like additional information on the TREK, please see the itinerary below or contact Kimberlee Swartz, Program in Real Estate Career Services Coordinator at 607-255-8369 or kms273@cornell.edu
