Call for Papers – Cornell Real Estate Review

The Cornell Real Estate Review (CRER) invites professionals and students to submit articles to be published in Volume 10 (2012) of the CRER. Student submissions are eligible for the “Most Outstanding Student Article Award” and a cash prize.

What is the Cornell Real Estate Review?
CRER is a student-edited publication founded in 2002 as a forum for students, faculty and practitioners in the real estate profession, to focus attention on research and key issues confronting the industry. The Review focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of real estate by blending informative practical papers with application-based academic research across the breadth of real estate disciplines, including design, acquisitions, economics, engineering, finance, law, planning, development, marketing and property management.

What is the Opportunity for Professionals?
Each year, the CRER publishes articles from both scholars and practitioners that express ideas, concepts and research findings from all fields related to real estate. Submissions can cover a variety of topics within the industry, including addressing a contemporary issue in a field related to real estate. Additionally, authors can provide in-depth analysis of a particular project or case from the real estate field. These articles can be strictly related to real estate or constitute more popular works which may be of interest to real estate professionals. Current publications or applications are examined and their strengths and weaknesses analyzed.

What is the Opportunity for Students?
Each year a $2,500 prize is awarded to the highest quality student article from a current student affiliated with a graduate degree in real estate (MBA, MS, MPS, MA, JD, or PHD). The “Most Outstanding Student Article” prize will be announced March 30, 2012. Authors should describe and analyze developments in their areas of expertise or interest in real estate and represent original work, ideas or research.  Student articles may be written individually or in collaboration with a professor or practitioner.

Articles are due by February 15, 2012.
Authors should describe and analyze developments in their areas of expertise or interest in real estate and represent original work, ideas or research.  Suggested length is approximately 5,000 words, but can vary for project/case submissions or reviews of popular works/applications. Articles may be written individually or in collaboration with an additional professor or practitioner. Professionals are highly encouraged to participate in the Student Collaboration Initiative and work with a student (or students) to produce an article. This relationship can assist the professional with the time commitments of researching and writing a publishable article and create a rewarding professional and personal relationship with an upcoming real estate professional.
