Stuart Brodsky’s visit to the Real Estate Industry Seminar represents a growing interest in energy efficiency and sustainability among Cornell real estate students.  Brodsky is National Program Manager for the US Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program. He is responsible for coordinating the EPA’s voluntary pollution prevention partnerships and outreach to office, warehouse, retail, and hospitality property operators and financial stakeholders.

In this capacity, Brodsky has led the federal government’s outreach and coordination with leading industry associations and working groups, including the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the Real Estate Roundtable (RER), the Socially Responsible Real Estate Investment Forum, and the Green Building Finance Consortium. His work ultimately entails development of tools and resources that allow property operators to identify the financial and environmental value of energy efficiency and climate stewardship.

Brodsky assumed his present position in March 1999 after leasing and managing real estate in the Boston area and working as a communications and marketing coordinator for Payette Associates, a national design firm. He studied architectural design at Rice University, received his Master’s of Environmental Design from Yale University, and his Bachelor’s degree in literature from Hobart College.
