RE Seminar: Troy Daniel, Thackeray Partners
Mr. Troy Daniel joined Thackeray in July 2008. He focuses his efforts on acquisitions and asset management of real estate assets nationwide. Mr. Daniel received an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2008, and a BBA in Management from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in 2000.
Thackeray Partners’ private equity real estate funds target a diversified portfolio of US real estate investments. To date, Thackeray has closed or committed to transactions totaling almost $2 billion, representing equity placements of over $400 million. Fund I began investing in May 2005 and is fully placed. Fund II began making investments in September 2007. Fund II emphasis is on the acquisition of stabilized multi-family, industrial and retail properties, but we also pursue value-add and development opportunities involving these product types. Fund III will begin making investments most likely in the fall of 2011 and will employ a similar strategy as Fund II. The limited partners of Thackeray’s funds consist primarily of university endowments and US family offices. The Thackeray team is comprised of 20 employees, 17 of whom are real estate professionals.
Prior to joining Thackeray, Mr. Daniel worked for Barton Medical Corporation from 2002 to 2006 – helping grow the start-up to be one of ‘INC 500’s Fastest Growing Private Companies’ through both acquisitions and organic growth. Mr. Daniel is actively involved in several industry and community organizations including the Dallas Real Estate Council, McCombs Real Estate Finance and Investment Center, Wharton Private Equity Partners, and LiveStrong. Mr. Daniel resides in Dallas with his wife, Carolyn and daughter.
