The Cornell Program in Real Estate welcomes Lorraine Tharp to the Cornell Real Estate Industry Seminar on Thursday, March 29, for a presentation on “Working with your Real Estate Attorney.”
Lorraine Tharp is a partner at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP in Albany, New York and the Chair of the firm’s real estate practice group. Her primary areas of practice are commercial real estate, banking law, and commercial lending.
Tharp was President of the New York State Bar Association in 2002-2003, having also served as President-Elect and Chair of the Association’s House of Delegates. She is a past Chair of the Real Property Law Section of the American Bar Association, and has co-chaired that Section’s committees on Financing and Liens, and Land Use and Planning.
Tharp, a graduate of the Cornell Law School and Smith College, worked following graduation in New York City with the firm Wickes, Riddell, and has had a focus on real estate law throughout her career. A resident of Saratoga Springs, NY, Tharp is a past Chair of the Saratoga Springs Planning Board, and has been a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers since 1994.
