The Program in Real Estate welcomes Duane Stiller to the Cornell Real Estate Industry seminar this Thursday. Mr. Stiller, President of Woolbright Development, Inc. will discuss retail commercial real estate and examine the importance of market research in the industry.

Founded in 1983, Woolbright Development Inc has focused on the redevelopment of existing shopping centers, primarily in Orlando, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Currently, the company owns more than 30 properties, comprising nearly five million square feet of retail and mixed-use real estate, and has lately expanded its operations to include ground-up development. Woolbright recently acquired Abacoa Town Center, the 91,000 square foot retail complex that is the center of Abacoa, a mixed-use community in Jupiter, Florida. Under the leadership of Mr. Stiller, Woolbright Development is now the fastest growing retail real estate company in Florida. As of 2006, the company was acquiring properties valued in excess of $1 billion annually.

A graduate of Cornell University’s College of Engineering, Mr. Stiller has spent the past three decades as a keen observer and active participant in Florida’s real estate market. Mr. Stiller resides in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife, Dalia, a graduate of Cornell and a practicing architect, and his daughter, Cristina. The Stiller family and the entire Woolbright Development team are active volunteers and philanthropists, supporting such organizations as the American Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina Victims, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, among others.
