Placement Statistics

The exit survey of May 2007 graduates showed that 94% of the Class of 2007 was employed by graduation, with graduates accepting positions in five different countries representing twelve different job functions ranging from investment banking, acquisitions, finance and portfolio management to product management, project management, consulting and development.  The two primary career categories pursued were development and investment. 

Starting salaries for graduates averaged $92,600 per year, with a median annual salary of $85,000.  Interestingly, 75% of the respondents anticipated annual bonuses in the form of a percentage of their annual salary or a set lump sum, with the average performance bonus estimated to be 40% of their annual salary.  Other financial incentives for these new hires include 25% that received signing bonuses averaging $22,000, 16% reported equity sharing potential, and 50% received an average of $6,000 of relocation assistance.  While 15% of graduates found their job through on-line job posting sites, an overwhelming 77% found their job through personal contacts such as Cornell Real Estate Council members, faculty, friends and family members.
