Real Estate Career Management at Cornell
Career management services are an integral part of the real estate program, and a distinguished feature of the Cornell program is our graduates’ focus on and preparedness for the real estate industry. From the time students arrive on campus they receive individualized career management attention from the Career Services Coordinator and faculty as they progress through the Cornell’s unique REAL ESTATE CAREER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM © that extends throughout their two-year program. The Cornell Real Estate Career Guide serves as the textbook for student’s two-year career program, which includes workshops, seminars, search firm and employer events, and more sequenced over a comprehensive career development and management timeline. Upon graduation, students have an in-depth understanding of the real estate industry, their choices within it, and the skills to manage their career path.

A hallmark of Cornell Real Estate Career Services is the individual attention and exclusive access students receive to career resources, programming, and advising. An enviable Career Services Coordinator:student ratio, an Advisory Board and alumni mentor for each student, and one-on-one faculty advising provide individual attention within a comprehensive real estate career development and placement program. One-on-one advising
Career counseling and individualized advising through close faculty advisors and Career Services Coordinator access provides Cornell real estate students an advantage. The Program’s size and commitment to individual attention allows getting to know each student personally.
Career Workshops and Events
Program in Real Estate Career Services has created a real estate industry-specific program to assist students in exploring and attaining their career goals. Workshops and events are offered in understanding real estate industry segments and job niches, working with search firms, networking techniques, interviewing techniques and mock interview practices, negotiations and more. Visiting speakers and guests add career management and industry insights.
Alumni and Mentor Program
Program in Real Estate alumni are grateful for their Cornell experience and want to give something back after graduation. Many volunteer for the Alumni and Mentor Program. This program is comprised of alumni and Advisory Board industry leaders who meet with their mentees, offer advice, answer questions about the real estate industry and assist you with your job search strategy.

Employers post jobs and internships through the Program in Real Estate Career Services, and the listings are provided exclusively to current Program in Real Estate students and alumni. Real estate students visit Placement Services as their center for information and resources on internship and job placements through the Program in Real Estate career services.

Program in Real Estate students are eligible to participate in campus-wide career fairs as well as more focused on-campus recruiting efforts held in conjunction with the Hotel and Johnson Schools that can augment the real estate-only recruiting that occurs through the Program in Real Estate.
