Core Courses
The Cornell Program in Real Estate curriculum includes perhaps the most comprehensive core set of required courses available in the country, which constitute a comprehensive foundation of understanding of the broad real estate business.
A cornerstone of the Cornell Program is that all students gain broad understanding of each discipline within the real estate industry through the required core. The core (see below) is taken in sequence, and the core concepts learned over the first three semesters culminates in the Real Estate Project Workshop, a capstone course taken during the last spring semester.

Waiver of core courses is rare, although architects often will substitute Design in Real Estate Development for an additional course in their specialization or construction engineers likewise with the Construction Planning and Operations course, for example.
