Welcome to Cornell Real Estate Career Services

Cornell Real Estate Career Service’s commitment to programmatic career management and development begins once a student is admitted and continues through to job placement. A focal point of the career management program is the Cornell Real Estate Career Guide©, which students receive during Orientation and progress though in conjunction with career workshops, development exercises, and events through their two year career. Many stakeholders combine to make Cornell’s career services individualized, attentive, and multi-faceted. Students receive individual career advising and support from many sources -- Coordinator of Career Services, faculty advisor, alumni mentor, Advisory Board mentor, Cornell Real Estate Council network – in addition to the numerous industry leaders brought to campus.

Cornell’s Program in Real Estate launches you firmly into the real estate industry. Cornell has built a reputation for educating real estate graduates that are sought after and are recognized for the immediate contributions they make. And the Career Services staff will be there for you every step of the way, helping you investigate the often intimidating opportunities and refine your interest in particular real estate industry segments. You will work closely with your faculty advisor and the career services staff to align your course of study, including specialization, with your career plans to ensure you graduate with a strong background in your chosen area of real estate interest.

Applied experience through summer internship placement is central to the Cornell Real Estate experience, and students utilize career services to identify and secure internships applicable to their career aspirations in the US and globally.

Ultimately, the goal is not only to help you land an exciting job following graduation, but to provide the real estate career development and management experiences and tools that will allow you to build a career as rewarding as your experience at Cornell’s Program in Real Estate.

In my role as partner in a large real estate venture investment fund, I have been fortunate to hire and work with five Cornell PRE students over the past several years. Each of the professionals we’ve brought on board from Cornell has been very well prepared to make an immediate and valuable contribution both to our business enterprise and to the team-oriented, multi-disciplinary approach required for success in our industry. This fact is a testimonial to the strong capabilities of Cornell’s graduates. Unlike typical MBAs, Cornell’s PRE graduates demonstrate an unmistakable passion and purpose in their pursuits within the industry. Real estate firms interested in hiring the very best young talent available should visit Cornell and meet with its PRE grads.
