Harriet Tregoning

Please join us for lunch and to meet and network with Cornell alums and guests involved in the greater Washington, DC, real estate community. We will hear Harriet Tregoning discuss how she is leading the effort to plan for the District of Columbia to become a globally competitive city.

Harriet Tregoning became director of the District of Columbia’s Office of Planning in February of 2007. Previously she was the director of the Governors’ Institute on Community Design and executive director of the Smart Growth Leadership Institute. She developed her expertise in state level action in the State of Maryland where she served Governor Glendening as the first state-level cabinet secretary for Smart Growth. Earlier, Ms. Tregoning was the director of Development, Community and Environment at the United States Environmental Protection Agency where she helped found and coordinate the National Smart Growth Network. Her academic training is in engineering and public policy. Ms. Tregoning was a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design from 2003 to 2004.
